Five days till the first of the finales (and a holiday of some sort;D) and the final five videos from the past five years. That's a lot of 5's. These past few weeks, going back over all these wonderful videos that have been made by the fans who love this silly show, has been nothing but amazing. I've enjoyed spreading the love and eagerly look forward to the final two episodes of RTD and David's DW careers. And with that, on to the music videos!

Week Four - Doctor Who Music Videos

1.
My Skin
by raspberry_splat

Why: From the Time War, into his regeneration to Nine, to meeting Rose, regenerating again, losing her and all that happens afterward. This is the Doctor. Dark and lonely. A damaged Doctor finds, but also loses, much. Sadly his path continues to be one of guilt ridden darkness and loneliness.

2.
Winter In My Heart by raspberry_splat, humansrsuperior, & leviathan101

Why: If this is what happens when three great vidders get together, it needs to happen more often. The blending, the colors, the freaking pain radiating throughout the vid. This is what the Doctor is without Rose, what his life has become. And it's no good. But you can't help but awe at the beauty of this journey told in the vid. Each second is haunting and what the vidders use as a description perfectly sums it up: Without Rose, the light and warmth in the Doctor's life fades, and he sinks into a cold world of darkness.

3.
Wintersong
by Analeia

Why: The song is so perfectly beautiful for the season and fits so well with the Doctor and Rose's relationship. Scarily so. Bittersweet and full of lovely transitions and effects, this video will leave you yearning for those light, happy days of the past. Loss and happiness at the same time.

4.
Everybody Dies by nolaespoir

Why: If you don't cry a little bit when watching this, you're not a fan. The music, the quotes, everything is so gutwrenchingly beautiful and haunting. Basically a long tribute for the Doctor and his companions and a hint of what's to come, it's a wonderful illustration of David Tennant's time as the man in the blue box. Watch and remember.

5.
The Time Of My Life
by erychan

Why: To the people who have made this wonderful show for the past few years - Russel, Phil, Julie, Billie, Freema, Catherine, Christopher and of course, David. Another tearjerker of a vid if you're going to be missing these people and what they gave us. Featuring behind the scenes, interviews, confidentials and other off set antics from the cast and crew, this one will stay with you. It's hard to describe how this video makes me feel. Everything. Not sure if that covers it. I'll always remember them and thank them for bringing this show into my life.

The End

In case you missed any of the recs over the past 4 weeks, check out Week One, Week Two and Week Three here.

I've tried to make a quality list of vids from the past few years. I've left out recent ones that have been made, because they're more likely to have been seen. But if you think I've made some tragic mistake, left out a truly wonderful gem from years gone by, then feel free to leave your rec in the comments. The more DW love the better:) But try to keep your recs to vids from the New Who era. That's what we're celebrating here.

The next 10 music videos in the countdown to the finales. Again, a lot of these are sadder but they also fill us with hope. Hope you enjoy the choices for this week. Only one more week to go after this.

Week Three - Doctor Who Music Videos

1.
Tender by iwillrememberu

Why: This is their song. Not only was it used in the Doomsday Confidential, but it just fits so freaking well. This video is about what Rose means to the Doctor and how she changed and healed him. It uses Confidential footage of Christopher, Billie and David to wonderful effect, to not only tell the Doctor and Rose's story, but also the actor's who portrayed them so beautifully on screen.

2.
The World Spins Madly On by Holly Gilmore

Why: Using footage from Billie's other work to portray Rose's life in the other universe, this video is AU but it doesn't seem so. Everything works so well together and you can totally believe that this is all one source. The song just guts to the core. I've uploaded the vid myself, since her site is no longer up.

3.
Broken by humansrsuperior

Why: There are just no words for how beautiful this vid is. Using crops and close-ups to wonderous effect, it shows the finer points of their time together and apart. The loss of Rose has left the Doctor broken inside. But because of her memory he is able to keep going, clinging to the last bits of her he has left.

4.
I Don't Have Anything by jagwriter

Why: You have no idea how many times I've watched this video, and the song after I had seen it the first time. And the audio quotes, utter perfection. From Jack's line from "Utopia" in the beginning to the oh so lovely surprise quote at the end, this video will keep you enthralled through the Doctor's journey without Rose in Series 3.

5.
Might Be Wrong by humansrsuperior

Why: The coloring, the movement, the fact that I love this video so much even though I'm a hardcore Doctor/Rose shipper. And yeah, the fact that Rose is in it even though it's the Doctor and Martha doesn't hurt. Plus Radiohead. It's not a shipper video, how can it be when the title has wrong in it, but it shows what she was up against with Rose's ghost hanging over her head.

6.
Left by humansrsuperior

Why: You might have noticed by now that I love hrs' vids. It's kind of hard not to when she makes hauntingly scary vids like this. I mean, it's Rose, it shouldn't be goosebumpy, should it? But it's Rose during "Turn Left" and that brings Bad Wolf into play. The quotes, the score, everything is just so brilliant.

7.
Every Time We Say Goodbye by Dani C.

Why: So beautiful and simplistic. No fancy, schmancy effects; just pure and good editing and lovely quotes to boot. They hit you right when they need too, and even though Rose and the Doctor have had more goodbyes since this was made, it still hurts when that final line is uttered. It also doesn't hurt that the song is sung by John Barrowman himself.

8.
End by humansrsuperior

Why: Before Journey's End, this was the video that reminded us all how awesome Rose was. And how much I was looking forward to her return. My name is Rose Tyler, and this is the story of how I died.

9.
Taking Chances (alternate download link) by fan_eunice

Why: I didn't think I liked Celine Dion anymore, but then this video came along and I fell in love with one of her songs again. It works and there's hugging and angst and sweetness. Everything I love about the Doctor and Rose, both 9 and 10.

10.
Forever and a Day by humansrsuperior

Why: I love Fisher now because of this vid. The Doctor's love for Rose is endless, and if you don't believe so, watch this vid and tell me differently. Even after everything that's happened, he'll never stop loving her and she will always be the one he wants to be with. The vid is sad but beautiful and touching. You'll die happy.

Here are the next 10 music videos for Week Two. Most of these are darker and sadder in nature, but there are a couple to lift your spirits. As always, don't forget to leave the vidders love.

Week Two - Doctor Who Music Videos

1.
Back to the Start by Mister Anderson

Why: So much nostalgia in this video. The first two series are beautifully woven together to show the Doctor and Rose's journey, and then taken back through each episode at the end, ending up where it all started.

2.
Her Name Was Rose by Holly Gilmore

Why: This was the very first Doctor Who video I ever saw. I had never seen a minute of the show, and the only reason I downloaded it was because I wanted to listen to the score used in the video, since I didn't have my Firefly cd at the time yet. And I discovered that there was a romance, which turned out to be one of the best I've ever seen. I don't know if I ever would have started watching the show if it hadn't been for this vid and Holly. I can't thank her enough:) I've uploaded the vid myself, since her site is no longer up.

3.
My One Mistake by humansrsuperior

Why: The Doctor is having a hard time moving on from Rose, and even some situations with Martha bring back vivid memories. I remember thinking this is exactly how I felt when Series 3 started and this new companion was just not getting that he didn't feel that way about her. Since then, I've grown fond of Martha and no longer hold such disdain for her, but this vid shows how the Doctor dealt with things that year.

4.
Prelude to War by hollywoodgrrl

Why: The music is haunting; the drum beats hitting you at just the right spot. The visuals move effortlessly from one to another, all combining to the end. It may only be a 30-second long trailer for the Series 3 finales, but it sticks with you.

5.
What I've Done by jagwriter

Why: He's done a whole lot more since this vid was made, but we see the dark side of 10 in this fast-paced, rocking vid. If we only knew the darkness yet to come. The voice-overs are brilliant and well placed, only adding to the vids darkness.

6.
Pretty Woman by humansrsuperior

Why: Look, a lighthearted vid:) I love Donna so much, and while I don't ship Donna/Ten in any way, shape or form, this vid is fun and so cute. Showcasing all the prettiness that is Donna Noble; this one will make you grin all the way and maybe laugh in a few places too.

7.
In Your Darkest Hour by rhoboat

Why: Not only is the music beyond awesome, it uses Davros' quotes to chilling effect. Done in the style of the Watchmen teaser, it's like a big screen movie trailer for The Stolen Earth/Journey's End. So awesome.

8.
Ain't No Sunshine When She's Gone by phantomviola

Why: I had wanted to see a Doctor/Rose vid to this song for a long while, and then this beauty came along. The cutting is perfect; really gutting you from beat to beat as the Doctor loses Rose time and again. Although made before Journey's End, it makes it that much sadder to know what is to come.

9.
All In All by humansrsuperior

Why: Lighthearted and filled with hugs, but tinges of sadness strewn throughout. Exactly what was needed after Journey's End, showing all the happy times the Doctor has had with all these people who love him. The visuals and effects will carry you right along with the music.

10.
Meet the Doctor by humansrsuperior

Why: Yes, another vid by her, but I had to end with something that's just plain fun. The Doctor meets Wall-E, or more exactly, meets the score from the trailer. It's adorable and it will have you grinning throughout. Truly a wonderful look at 10.

With the end of RTD and David Tennant's eras in sight, I thought now would be a good time to look back at all the fabulous music videos that the fandom has created in the last five years. Every week leading up to Christmas, I will showcase vids that I think show the beauty and wonder that is Doctor Who. And some that are just plain fun. A lot of them will be Doctor/Rose centric, because frankly, that's what I like. I hope you'll enjoy the vids that I choose, and don't forget to leave feedback for the vidders themselves. So, without any further ado, I give you the first 10 videos.

Week One - Doctor Who Music Videos

1.
Chemistry by Holly Gilmore

Why: This was the second DW vid I ever saw, and before I had watched a single minute of the show. This is what made me finally want to watch this weird, but amusing looking, show. And Holly, being the amazing person that she is, sent me the first two series. And I fell in love. Based off the Bones "It Takes Chemistry To Solve Murders" promos, this is a fun and hip look at the first 2 series of the show. I've uploaded the vid myself, since her site is no longer up.

2.
Her Eyes by Emily

Why: Not only does it use an awesome Josh Groban song, but it beautifully shows the relationship between 9 and Rose. Her summary: The Doctor was spiralling towards madness until a chance meeting with a shopgirl caused him to re-evaluate what he was- and through her innocent awe of him, what he could become.

3.
Far Away by jagwriter

Why: A happy, sort of AU ending, to Doomsday, with the Doctor and Rose finding each other again and living happily ever after. A perfect song for them. And the audio quotes are awesome.

4.
Touched by humansrsuperior

Why: Um, hells yeah. Still one of my top favorite vids to the day, this is an emotional rollarcoaster of a ride for the Doctor and Rose. The song is perfection for them and I still get goosebumps near the end when Rose starts to fall into the void.

5.
History Repeating by rhoboat

Why: Have you ever found yourself watching the show and felt like you've seen this thing before? Well, this vid sets out to show all the similarities between the different companions' journey with the man in the blue box. Fun and entertaining.

6.
I Am A Scientist by di-br

Why: This vid is so fun and the song makes you want to groove in your desk chair. The Doctor looks more like a scientist in this vid and all the quirkiness of 10 comes to the forefront here.

7.
His Name Is The Doctor by seduff

Why: One of many beautiful vids by seduff, this one looks at the companions viewpoint of the Doctor, in all his fire and ice and lonely god self. The audio quotes are perfection.

8.
All To Dust by humansrsuperior

Why: Another hrs' vid, this one has Bad Wolf aplenty and beautifully connects her statements in PotW with scenes throughout the series. The audio, combined with the stunning visuals, will glue you to your seat.

9.
Handlebars by Seah & Margie

Why: With what's happened in WoM, this vid is especially wonderful. The song might make you want to throw something out the window, but it's so surprising how well it fits with the show, and the character of 10. Every scene is a well thought out step to the conclusion.

10.
Come What May by butterfly

Why: Another song that just screams Doctor/Rose, this vid is haunting and lovely till the very bittersweet end. If anyone knows me, they know I wasn't very happy with Journey's End, but this shows that sadness on both their parts that they can't be truly with the one they love. As the description says, this is a story about love.

I started this right after I finished my last fanmix, knowing I wanted to show a look at the Doctor and Rose separated, but with a hopeful outlook on being reunited one day. Then came that wonderful news and this became so much more. It was actually happening and all those songs I'd been gathering for the past few months were real and true to their relationship; no longer just my hopes and dreams for them. There's still an uncertain furture ahead but I hope they come out on top again; their love and belief in one another can overcome anything. Who knows, maybe we'll get that happily ever after.

This is my first official fanmix, although I have been making them for myself for years. It's for my newest fandom and ship - the wonderful, loving and simply fantastic relationship between the Doctor and Rose on Doctor Who. I fell in love with them right away and this mix covers both the 9th and 10th Doctor with Rose, as well as their lives apart after Doomsday.
